HARVEST FESTIVAL THURSDAY OCTOBER 20th

CLARENCE PARK BAPTIST CHURCH 9.30AM

The whole school will be taking part in a production of “Hooray for the Little Red Hen”.  Nursery, Reception and Year 1 will be performing “Old MacDonald’s Farm”.

 

Our chosen charity for this year’s harvest festival is ‘WESTON-SUPER-MARE FOODBANK’.

Many families in our local area are struggling on low incomes.  Weston-super-Mare foodbank provides emergency food and support to local people in crisis.  Attached to this newsletter is a list of items of food that are needed to fill the boxes.  Food items may be left in the school library.

 

PARENT INTERVIEWS

Thursday October 20th Reception – Class 6.

This is an opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss progress so far this year.  All children should have brought home an appointment slip.  Please check your child’s bag if you have not received it yet.

 

RECORDERS

All children from Year 3 upwards now learn the recorder as part of their music lessons.  We would like all children in Class 3 to buy a recorder from school- price £3.75.  After half-term can all children bring their recorders to school each Monday for music lessons.

 

YOUNG PEOPLE’S CONCERT AT COLSTON HALL

TUESDAY OCTOBER 18th at 1pm.

Classes 3 -6 have been invited to a young people’s concert given by Wells Cathedral School at the Colston Hall, Bristol.  An exciting programme of music is planned with a “Movie Spectacular” theme.

 

Before the concert upper school will take the opportunity of visiting M-Shed (Bristol Industrial Museum).

 

HALF TERM HOLIDAY

The school will be closed Monday 24th October to Friday 28th October for the half-term holiday.
